The Board of the Scientific Club "WENTYLATOR":
Chairwoman: Patrycja Kowalska
Academic supervisor: Dr. Hab. Eng. Robert Cichowicz, professor of the university robert.cichowicz@p.lodz.pl
Activities of the Club:
1. History of the Scientific Club
The Wentylator Student Science Circle was founded in 2000. The circle's guardian from the beginning of its activity until today has been Dr. Hab. Eng. Robert Cichowicz, professor of the university. Initially, the circle operated at the Department of Heating and Ventilation Technology, while currently it is developing at the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Building Installations at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology.
2. Logo
In order to better identify with the activities of the Wentylator Student Science Circle, in 2010 the first official logo of our student organization was created and unanimously accepted, which operated until 2015.
However, after five years it was decided to "refresh" the logotype, which resulted in the current new T-shirts for members of the organization and supporters of the circle, a promotional banner and other materials promoting the Wentylator Student Science Circle. As a result, the new logo has become the new calling card of the group and a symbol of the organization's recognition among other student organizations.
3. Environmental Engineering Day
One of the most important events organized by SKN Wentylator are the Environmental Engineering Days, which are held regularly at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology.
This Day/Competition is intended to promote issues related to installations in construction and help disseminate knowledge about the environmental engineering major, including introducing students to the range of products from various industry manufacturers, and also allowing students of the BAIŚ Faculty of Lodz University of Technology to better integrate.
The competition has been held continuously since 2013 and concerns various issues related to building installations, and so:
- The 1st Environmental Engineering Day in 2013 was titled "Clamp the Reindeer";
- The 2nd Environmental Engineering Day in 2014 was associated with "15 years of SKN Wentylator, or Engineering with Great Pomp";
- The 3rd Environmental Engineering Day in 2015 was entitled "Overcome resistance";
- The 4th Environmental Engineering Day in 2016 was held under the slogan "Build a sleigh by welding";
- The 5th Environmental Engineering Day in 2017 was "The Polish plumber is irreplaceable";
- The 6th Environmental Engineering Day in 2018 was entitled "Go Balance - don't let yourself be thrown off balance";
- The 7th Environmental Engineering Day in 2024 was entitled "Time for a deckchair. Environmental Engineering in Construction for the summer".
4. Industry Training
SKN Wentylator also cooperates with a number of companies related to building installations. Thanks to this, industry training is organized and prepared for members of our group and other students interested in a given topic. We regularly cooperate with companies such as: Grundfos, Venture Industries Vesbo, Nikczuk Metal, and Ebmpapst.
5. Open Day for Primary Schools
The latest form of SKN Wentylator's activity was participation in an open day for primary school students, which took place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology. This event was to show/interest the youngest participants how fascinating the world of technology and science can be. This initiative was related to the "belief" that it often happens that it is in childhood that we decide who we want to be in the future (of course, it can also be different). However, let's hope that at least some of our young guests will decide to choose this path of education and "visit" our Faculty for a longer time, being another generation of students.
6. Symposium of Scientific Circles
From the very beginning, SKN Wentylator members have also been active participants in seminars organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering. At the symposium, the circle always summarizes its activities in a given academic year, and also presents substantive papers related to the field of "environmental engineering in construction" (formerly "environmental engineering").
